Overview

Placement and Appeal is responsible for all aspects of the expulsion process including screening the cases, conducting hearings, interim placements, counseling students and families, and reinstatement back to schools as governed by the California Education Code and District procedures.

Placement and Appeal also conducts:

  • Administrative placements
  • School Initiated Placements (SIP)
  • County Juvenile Court Community School students previously incarcerated
  • Out-of-District expulsions
  • Staff review parent appeals regarding suspensions
